Nominate for Ag Town of Year

NOMINATIONS are now open for the 2025 Agricultural Town of the Year Award, which celebrates South Australian towns that excel in agriculture and offer vibrant, thriving communities.

Now in its seventh year, the award recognises towns that embrace their farming roots, demonstrate resilience, and showcase the innovation and community spirit that define regional SA.

The program highlights the crucial role of agriculture in shaping strong local economies and enriching the state as a whole.

The winning town will receive official entrance signage, a certificate and trophy presented by the Minister for Primary Industries and Regional Development, a celebratory community event and sign unveiling, and a feature in SALIFE magazine.

Past winners are Penola (2024), Wudinna (2023), Mypolonga (2022), Kimba (2021), Pinnaroo (2020) and Cleve (2019).

Minister Clare Scriven said the award was a valuable opportunity to spotlight the contribution of regional communities.

“Farming and agribusiness contribute $18.5 billion to the stateís economy,” she said.

“With many towns facing challenges like drought this year, it’s more important than ever to shine a light on our incredible agricultural communities.”

Wattle Range Council mayor Des Noll OAM said Penola’s 2024 win had a unifying and inspiring impact on the town.

Nominations close May 21 and can be submitted at agtown.com.au.
