Maitland meeting for national grain growers group
1 min read

GRAIN growers in South Australia are encouraged to attend meetings in Riverton and Maitland next week to discuss grains research and development, levy rates and the impact on growers.

The meetings, to be held on Wednesday September 17, are part of a national consultation series, Grains R&D: your levies, your views, led by GrainGrowers in its representative role with the Grains Research and Development Corporation.

Session details:

  • Riverton Sports Club, 11am to 12.30pm
  • Yorke Valley Hotel, Maitland, 6.30pm to 8pm

The consultation series will visit 18 regional centres across five states between September 2 and October 16.

GrainGrowers chief executive Shona Gawel said the meetings were an important opportunity for growers to consider current issues, share their views and ask questions.

“There’s been a lot of discussion recently about grains R&D,” Ms Gawel said.

“These meetings are designed to ensure we listen to growers and reflect carefully on the next steps.

“While growers can contact us anytime, these events provide a valuable opportunity to connect and consult directly.”

A virtual session will be held later for those unable to attend in person.
